John Fitzpatrick
Glasgow Print Studio Ground Floor Gallery
Exhibition Runs: Exhibition runs until Sunday 02 September 2018
Preview: Thursday 02 August from 6pm - 8pm (Trongate 103 First Thursday)
The work explores the relationship between image and object. Recognising the print as a residue of process the work carries with it an implicate dialogue of duality:
Form and void
Surface and depth
Movement and stillness
Illusion and materiality
Considered and incidental
Duration and instant
The works are built up over a prolonged drawing period and an innumerable network of lines. These lines are etched and reworked considerably to create an almost 3 dimensional depth to the plate, and therefore the print.
John Fitzpatrick is an artist, tutor and teacher living and working in Glasgow, he has a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Printmaking from the Glasgow School of Art.
