The Saxophonist Tree - a dedication to Lol Coxhill

"I had the joy to be saxophonist Lol Coxhill's neighbour when resident printmaker at Digswell Press in Herts from 1977 to 1983. Lol has since been in my heart as a great man, colleague and musician. When he died on July 10th 2012 we all lost a great ‘mate’.

An exhibition of Annalisa Colombara’s dedications to Lol, printed from copper plates etched and proofed in 1981, drawn from a chestnut tree on Monk's Walk, Digswell, and printed in 2012 at Glasgow Print Studio."

Annalisa has coloured a set of these during live London performances, inspired by the sound of the musicians dedications to him, on the 19th September 2012 and Cecil Sharp House and at Cafe Oto on the 30th October 2012.
