Glasgow Print Studio presents an exhibition of linocut printmaking from Banff-based visual artist Bryan Angus. The artist's practice is rooted in traditional painting and printmaking, with observation and drawing being key to his process. Angus strives to represent the richly visual moments we find in the world, focusing on the effects of light and atmosphere that leave a lasting impression.
Bryan aims for his work to possess a poetic quality, while maintaining a cautious approach to sentimentalism, particularly given his coastal living and use of local landscapes as inspiration. The artist's background in theatre design and appreciation for traditional illustration have influenced certain pieces, coming through in a more fantastic form in some pieces.
